Carl Perkins appeared a total of four times on the Jamboree during 1956, each time playing to larger and more enthusiastic crowds. This broadcast recordings features excerpts from several appearances that year, including Perkins classic ''Blue Suede Shoes'', two rhythm and blues classics that Elvis had also tackled, ''That's All Right'' and ''I Got A Woman'', as well as ''Slippin' And Slidin''', and an old Rex Griffin song that Perkins claimed as his own (and got away with it) ''Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby''. Carl afficianados will note that several of these performances ocurred on the Perkins band's first live appearances back at the ''Big D Jamboree'' following their near-fatal car wreck on March 22, 1956 outside Dover, Deleware, an accident that provid to have a devastating impact on the rest of Carl's career, and eventually caused the death of his brother, Jay.
