Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Curt Heavy Duty Forged Ball Mount with a 2-5/16ths-inch diameter ball. It's a two inch hitch, has a 15,000-pound gross towing weight capacity. Now this ball mount with the attached hitch ball, it'll let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. The shank right here will slide into your vehicle's two-inch hitch receiver, and the hitch ball right here is what'll provide the connection point for your trailer's coupler. The ball size on this is 2-5/16ths-inch diameter.

Now this ball mount does provide a drop to fit your application and that drop is four inches. That's measured from the top of the inside of your hitch opening to the top of the ball platform. Now this is a solid one-piece forged steel construction, has a corrosion resistant carbide black powder coat finish on it and the hitch ball comes installed and pre torqued to factory specifications, and the ball has a corrosion resistant chrome plating on the ball. Now when you do install this into your hitch, it will require a hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock to secure this ball mount to your hitch receiver. Those items are not included.

We do sell those separately. The diameter of this hitch pin hole is 5/8ths of an inch. Again, this will fit into a two-inch by two-inch trailer hitch receiver. Now the gross towing weight capacity, not to get confused, if you look at the label they put on it, it says 17,000 pounds, but the ball is stamped with 15,000 pounds. So that's gonna be your maximum.

You always have to go by the lowest capacity. So the gross towing weight capacity is gonna be 15,000 pounds, 'cause the hitch ball is what will limit that. Tongue weight capacity will be 1500 pounds. And the last thing I wanna do is just give you the length, and the length is measured from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the hitch ball. So if we go center, to the center of the ball, is 8-1/2 inches.
