Melissa's solo trip | Mossman Gorge & Port Douglas

Описание: How lucky was I to time getting over to the east coast for the weekend! I couldn’t get my MDC XT10E and myself into any into local Port Douglas caravan parks even though I tried a couple of weeks earlier. Turns out, you need a lot more lead time than that! (Which is frustrating because it doesn’t allow you to be spontaneous, but this is the popularity of caravanning in this beautiful country of ours!)

I did get very lucky that I was able to catch the Mossman markets in the local church yard on Saturday morning, and then Port Douglas markets down on the harbour on the Sunday. I am a market girl, and these are some of the best in the country because they feature local artists, artisans, jewellers, designers and small goods manufacturers. I believe a must see if you can time it!

I also got to spend the afternoon at Mossman Gorge, a place that I adore, and spend a few hours on Saturday evening in Port Douglas. It was kind of weird to be there on my own, (I believe it’s a town for couples and friends all hanging out in cool bars and restaurants!). But a sunset is a sunset and the marina is just beautiful. So I stayed there for a few hours and really soaked up all the beauty of this town.

If you love these well-known destinations, you’ll really enjoy this episode. The highlight for me was being at Mossman Gorge where I had the entire back waterhole to myself. It is truly heaven on earth, so peaceful.
