Testing an early version of my Terrain Streaming Tool, which will be used in my game, Airburner.
These spikes you can see in the profiler were latter resolved by doing the search for the new tiles in the database in another thread, and loading updating the heightmap and texture of each tile with coroutines (because the Terrain API of unity it is not thread safe).
Also, to further improve the performance, I added support for Virtual texturing using Granite SDK, because the way Unity updates the terrain was blocking the GPU for 10 ms aprox.
