“We Took On The John O’ Groats Trail” - Day 1

Описание: Welcome to Day 1 of our journey on the John O’ Groats Trail, a stunning and rugged long-distance hiking route along Scotland’s northeast coast. This lesser-known trail stretches over 147 miles (237 km) from Inverness to John O’ Groats, and I’ll be documenting every step of the way!
Join me abd my hiking buddy - @hikerwithahat as we head south along the rugged Caithness coastline, passing dramatic sea cliffs, open moorland, and remote countryside, eventually arriving and wikd camping in my durston x-mud 2p tent at the haunting ruins of Keiss Castle. The scenery is raw and beautiful, with plenty of wind, waves, and wild terrain to keep things interesting.

This forms part of our Land End To John O’ Groats goal. To date we have completed the West Highland Way and the Great Glen Way, so this trail continues the mission to connect the dots.
