We follow Codex standards as they are applied on a pear orchard in Oregon, USA, hearing firsthand from the grower and others involved in the process, who explain the value of Codex standards to them. Potential issues, such as the level of pesticide residues, are carefully stewarded by following Codex guidance at all stages — from growing and harvesting, to processing, packing and transportation. Customers can rest assured the pears are safe to eat, while the farmer is confident her produce is ready for export since it meets Codex international standards.
