How to grow Oxalis in the garden...don't be frightened!!! These ones aren't thuggish spreaders!!

Описание: This week on The Horti-Culturalists we look at another of Stephen's (many!) passions - Oxalis!! Now here in Australia that name can induce a shiver down the spine of many a gardener as the South African Oxalis pes-caprae, the yellow flowered 'Bermuda buttercup' , is a well known introduced exotic that has managed to naturalize itself throughout the southern half of the country! But....there are SO many OTHER beautiful winter flowering South African species that are not weedy spreaders and give sensational flowers at an otherwise difficult time for colour and some also have the benefit of beautiful 'autumn' coloured foliage as they enter dormancy in spring. And a deep dive into Oxalis wouldn't be complete without a look at the most popular of house plants at the moment, the more glamorous South American cousin Oxalis triangularis, and the less common South American shrubby Oxalis peduncularis. Let's see if Stephen can convince you that there's room in your garden, and heart, or even in pots, for some Oxalis!
