There is a throne in every human heart, and something is always competing to sit on it. When God is not first, something else quietly takes His place. That is how idols begin — not only as visible objects, but as hidden heart-idols that slowly steal devotion, peace, and joy.

In this deep and honest morning prayer, we pause to face a truth many believers avoid: idolatry can look completely normal on the outside while ruling the heart on the inside. It can disguise itself as success, relationships, comfort, reputation, control, or even secret sin. Often, the true idol is whatever we trust most, turn to first, or fear losing the deepest.
