This lecture aims to explain the concept of the three-layer system and how to determine the stresses and strains based on related theory. This lecture focuses on the Jone's table method to estimate stresses factors that can be used to estimate the vertical and radial stresses and strains at the top and bottom of each layer through working on Example 2.11.
