Описание: This isn't your ordinary Leonidas protecting his land. This Leonidas is from the physics and shooting game called Spanthera. Your lands have been invaded by lizards. Your mission is to eliminate these lizards by throwing in your spears at them. But this is not as easy as it sounds. You need to get a headshot in order to eliminate them. Any hit on their bodies won’t do any damage. You must also avoid hitting the civilians being used as shields by the enemies. Try to use minimal amount of spears as much as possible to get perfect 3 stars!

Overview:

In the land of Spanthera, they follow the principles of Spartan culture. The Spantherans are humanoid lions and are led by the prince who later became king Leonidas. Spanthera is at peace until the arrival of the Lizard Men. These Lizard Men are out for blood and are out for the Spantherans. Their true goal is to obtain the Goddess’ Sigil. You must now control Leonidas or at least his spear in annihilating the threat of the Lizard Men and their leader Slitherix. Make sure to find the hidden references to popular media items.

Aesthetics:

Spanthera’s visuals are by far some of the best for games like these. They’re hand drawn animation and they look good. The details on the cartoonish characters are very fine which makes the game good to watch and play as well. The music may be few but they are done just right. It gives you that middle aged or mythological feel to it as lion men and lizard men fight it out although there really isn’t that much action. Several things that this game has are cinematics and certain levels that have dialogue in them. The voice overs are nicely done as they are audible and crisp. The game even has two endings with one being bad and the other being good depending on how well you did on the last level.

Gameplay:

The game is more like an aiming shooter game as you control Leonidas’ spear’s trajectory. There are multiple goals in the game with the main one being that you need to eliminate all the Lizard Men in each level. Once you eliminate all of them, you get to proceed to the next level and so on. The other objective which is optional is to get a three star ranking. The lesser number of spears you throw makes your rank higher which is a good replay value. This sounds easy until you learn of the third objective. The third objective in completing the level is that all Spantheran civilians in the level must not die. They can die in three ways with one being killed by your spear; the other is being killed by the Lizard Men and the last one being crushed by obstacles and terrains. You need to keep these civilians alive or else the level is failed and you need to start it all over again. There are also puzzle sequences in the game which you need to figure out in order to kill the Lizard Men or avoid hitting your civilians. You need to toggle buttons or press teleportation sigils just to complete each level. There are 30 levels all in all and if you don’t care much for ranking then you can pretty much finish the game in less than 15 minutes. However the true replay value of the game is finishing each level with 3 stars. That is a feat that is not easy to achieve and it makes you want to play the game over and over again.
