Cigna Disability claims denials continue to be the subject of many federal lawsuits. A World Wide provider of insurance, Cigna Health Insurance Company markets products including medical, dental, life insurance and employer provided short and long term disability group plans.

Their disability insurance is provided by Cigna Group Insurance and is underwritten and affiliated with companies such as Life Insurance Company of Northern America.

Almost all employer provided disability insurance plans are subject to federal legislation called ERISA. Most Cigna disability claims fall into the category of ERISA.

Many attorneys are not trained in the complexities of ERISA governed claims. The legal process is quiet different from insurance claims that are governed under state insurance law.
