On December 6th, 2025 the Central Florida HIV Planning Council (CFHPC) in partnership with Heart of Florida United Way (HFUW) hosted their 8th annual World AIDS Day event in honor of those who have lost their lives to HIV/AIDS.
The theme for this year's event was "Rooted in Resilience."
World AIDS Day is an opportunity for our community to Live United, to empower those living with HIV/AIDS, and to prevent further transmission. This event provided a space for supporters and individuals devoted to ending the epidemic to enjoy live performances, recognize individuals dedicated to the cause, and remember, honor, and celebrate the lives of those we have lost to HIV/AIDS.

The Central Florida HIV Planning Council is a community planning body that that advises on the allocation of federal funds for the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) Part A & B programs and provides HIV prevention planning. Through the CFHPC, the voices of local healthcare providers, people with HIV (PWH), those at risk for HIV, and other concerned citizens in the area can be heard in deciding how to distribute RWHAP Part A & B funds.
