The Blessing - Delta Rain

Описание: The video for Delta Rain was made in one day on the same weeklong trip to Jamaica that produced Hurricane Room. We shot in the town of Duncans, which is famous for being the birthplace of Harry Belafonte. It is near Falmouth on the north shore of the island and has a long beach called Silver Sands.
The local cast seemed to enjoy themselves, and the local crew were extremely experienced filmmakers, used to working on the adverts, fashion shoots and features that are regularly made on this beautiful island.
My favourite island movie, which is very reminiscent of our Bahamas trips is 'Club Paradise' which was shot in Port Antonio… great music from Jimmy Cliff, and a great performance by Peter O'Toole.
Anyway, in our video we are suggesting the ambience of old Orleans. (Where's my red light bulb?).
Gosh - making vids is a tricky business, and I do admire the musicians who take to it naturally. I had a couple of goes and ran back to the studio and the open road…
I did want to show the island to the band, which was good, and we had a great time. We stayed at High Hope, which is a farm above St Ann's bay, and we were an odd travelling party - Director and wife, lady producer, steady cam expert, Adam, record company lady and Rebecca Price. Oh, and focus puller who had come straight from Marrakesh and retired to his room on the first night with tummy trouble and never reappeared.
The band lost all their luggage in Miami and Kev and I had our hair done with coconut oil which left us still greasy after ten showers.
To my mind the best bits are Miss Price's rustic ramble through the garden and Kev staring at the camera in the rain scene.
