Sung on-screen by the actor-soldiers of the 1955 box office hit “Battle Cry,” this traditional army marching chant was turned into a rousing hit record by the Mooney orchestra and chorus, reaching #6 on the sales and juke box charts and purportedly selling over a million copies. Mooney returned later in the year with the (also posted) holiday hit “Nuttin’ For Christmas,” featuring young Barry Gordon.
