On October 2, 1970 two planes left Wichita, Kansas carrying the Wichita State University football team. After a brief stop in Denver the two planes departed. The "Black plane" carrying the backup players followed the preplanned route and the "Gold plane" carrying the starting players took the scenic route over the Rocky Mountains. This video gives a birds-eye view of the disastrous outcome of this event.
