Honestly one of my favorite anime characters of all time. Such a tragic character with a rich backstory. It often goes understated but I really appreciate how the anime goes out of its way to humanize Mikami. The scene in episode 32 where he intervenes in the bus where those kids were bullying their classmate is one of my favorites in that episode. Yes the anime is famous for his dramatic Sakujo scenes which makes him a but hard to take seriously but the changes and additions made in his flashback scenes made him all the more compelling as a character.
