First grade teacher Abigail Zwerner recounts the moment a 6-year-old student shot her

Описание: Abigail Zwerner was hospitalized for almost two weeks after being shot in the chest and left hand while teaching first graders at Richneck Elementary School in Newport News, Virginia.

“I just will never forget the look on his face that he gave me while he pointed the gun directly at me," Zwerner said during an interview with NBC. "It's changed me. It's changed my life."

When recounting the moment she was shot on January 6, 2023, Zwerner said that she thought she “had died,” and that after the bullet hit her, she “thought I was on my way to heaven or in heaven.”
