This powerful hadith from Sahih Muslim highlights the immense virtues of attending the Friday (Jumu’ah) prayer with sincerity and respect. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) teaches that whoever performs ablution well, comes to the Friday prayer, listens silently and attentively to the sermon, will have all his minor sins forgiven from one Friday to the next — plus three additional days. However, even speaking during the sermon, including telling someone else to be quiet, counts as idle talk and reduces the reward.
