The P-Pump 12 Valve 5.9L Cummins is the best light duty diesel ever built, this isn't really debatable. But it's probably the most overrated diesel you can buy today (debatable). It's great for swaps, reliability, simplicity, and zombie apocalypses. But that's really about it. The trucks they came in were/are junk and completely clapped out, and the engine that are still running, leak like a sieve. Regardless of your diesel desires, there are many better options available now that provide much more performance and value. I'll discuss some better options so you don't waste your money. Then I'll waste $10K to build a Compound Turbo 12 Valve anyway.
