Have you seen Great Egret do this before? | Ardea alba

Описание: Great White Egret, Ardea alba, is a widespread bird globally but one that has been rare in Britain until recently. Ever increasing numbers of Great Egrets are seen in UK and on a day trip to Abberton reservoir in Essex I saw a total of seven of these large egrets. Usually Great Egret can be seen feeding on fish, amphibians and other creatures that live in the water but as I watched one bird I noticed that is was picking something off of waterside trees to eat and this turned out to be small caterpillars. I read a lot of literature on Great Egret and could not find any direct reference to this species eating caterpillars so it may be an undocumented behaviour.
