Описание: Disclaimer: I am not a professional, this is simply MY personal journey of work and learning as I go. For this video i wanted to cover the process of us cutting the axle tubes and relocating the pinion's center on an 8.8 we picked up for our nomad build following a successful rework of an 8.8 for our 55 210. This process was fairly simple, with us stripping the rear end and cutting the tubes 8" from the flange (though you can do it anywhere measurement wise) and relocating the tubes to the opposing sides before welding them back up, moving the pinion almost 3" to the driver side thereby getting it closer to center.

The template we used to drill the axles was part number 8021392 from summit, and we went with 7/16X20 press in studs, either 1 1/2 or 1 11/16 long to replicate the original setup on the 55. The u-joint used was part number 353 to pair the 55 driveshaft to the ford 8.8 flange. we utilized the 55's factory leaf spring perch mounts, and will use the factory 55 mounts that bolts on to the springs and rear end with the shock mount attached. by stripping the factory 55 e brake housing and trimming the locking tabs to fit the ford 8.8 housing and lock, you can feed the 8.8 cable INTO the 55 housing and pair them with a crimping tool to utilize the e brake on the rear end, though it CAN conflict with exhaust in the case of my 55 210.
