Hopper Teaches us the basics of Hurdle Making - an impromptu education!

Описание: Hurdles are very important technology. They are flat panels of wood, made by weaving long round of hazel around uprights.

This video shares a chance meeting in the woods with a hurdle-maker. We told him we knew nothing - he spent 15 minutes demonstrating some basic principles, using a few twigs as a visual guide. From this, we learned the very basics that allowed us to go forward to build the floor to our winter house.

Please note - this is not an instructional video - it is the transmission of knoweldge from an expert to 4 absolute noobies. We knew nothing. And his crude demonstration enabled us to grasp some complex ideas, pretty quickly.


If you are looking for a step-by-step guide, look elsewhere. This is a live but unprepared casual demonstration, between tea and a rainstorm. But it helped us tremendously.
