He has made four specific demands of Israel: end the “appalling” situation in Gaza and allow 500 aid trucks in a day, reach a ceasefire, “make clear” there will be no annexation in the West Bank and commit to a long-term peace process that delivers a two-state solution.

But Israel, the US and even hostage families argue that such a move “rewards Hamas” and “validates terrorism.”
