Описание: Fashion designer turned printmaker Kate has conceived her creative practice to fit round the demands and routines of family life. She took her first printmaking classes in Edinburgh while pregnant with Harris, now 12, after moving to Scotland from the Welsh Borders with her husband Dave. Having relocated to the East Lothian coast when her second baby, Angus, arrived nine years ago, she’d snatch sketches while the boys played on the beach and practise lino carving while they slept. “I’d always been drawn to the aesthetic of printmaking – I love the way it simplifies things and forces you to pare back your designs,” she says. “I chose the medium of linocut deliberately because it’s not overly complicated and I could do it from home.”
