Appleblim is one of dubstep’s most experimental sons, always pushing at the edges of UK bass by borrowing from dub, techno, garage or house. Best known for his work with Shackleton on the short-lived but influential Skull Disco imprint, the man born Laurie Osborne has since spread his wings on his own label, Apple Pips, and by looking further afield into the expansive world of techno.

In his lecture at the 2008 Red Bull Music Academy, Appleblim recalled inspirational London raves, how he came to hang out with the Hardwax crew and explained the art of the mixdown.
