The modern trend in brewing seems to chase extremes. Brewers try to cram more hops into beer, experiment with exotic fruits, and try to revitalize styles that had disappeared ages ago. While this is commendable, sometimes the tried and true styles get overlooked. With this is mind, I picked Up this award winning Helles Lager from the Brauhaus Riegele. It pours a light golden color, is generously carbonated, and has a dry taste, highlighted by subtle hops and sweet malt flavors. Overall, this is a good beer, is true to style and is definitely worth trying.
