Описание: This very obscure player piano roll, recorded at the Standard Music Roll Company of West Orange, NJ, dates from 1920. That makes it possibly the very first live recording of a Black pianist playing the St. Louis Blues. I might be forgetting someone, so correct me if this is incorrect. The fact alone that Lucille Hegamin's husband recorded player piano rolls in Orange is buried in obscurity. I believe J. Lawrence Cook made a roll of St. Louis Blues in 1922. Earlier rolls right back to 1914 exist, but were others hand-played, particularly by a Black pianist?
