The view of Mount Ngauruhoe [AKA Mt Doom] up the Mangatepopo Road is always amazing. This road feeds the Tongariro Crossing - it's where all the hikers get dropped off to do the 20km walk over the Mt Tongariro.
20 Minutes from home and well worth the short outting in between down pours as I continue to try and tick off some kilometers to knock off that first 1000.
