There are so many shelter animals in South Africa, who deserve loving homes. Don't hesitate to contact your local SPCA (The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) to find out how to get involved. There will never be enough recourses to help all the animals.

Wellington SPCA is a non-profit welfare organization which serves to prevent cruelty and promote the welfare of all animals in the surrounding communities.

Here’s a quick guide on how our ADOPTION PROCESS works:
1. Saw an animal you like on our page, contact us to make an appointment to meet them.
2. If the animal is available and your application form is screened, you will move on the next step in the process.
3. A home-check is done.
4. If the home-check is passed and you have other dogs, a meet & greet will be done to introduce the new dog.
5. Thereafter, the animal will be sterilized, Inoculated and micro chipped before he/she goes home. If the animal is too young, and you fall within our area, they will return to be sterilized at 6 months at no extra costs. Otherwise, the animal will need to be sterilized before going home.
6. You sign all the necessary legal paperwork for your new pet.
Just like that, you have a new furry friend as part of your family!
The fees to adopt is R900 (felines) & R950 (canines), the following is included in the cost:
• Compulsory sterilization
• Microchip
• First vaccination
• De-flea & de-worm treatment
• Veterinary cover for one weeks after adoption
• Feline Aids & Leukaemia tests for cats
Once you have decided to go ahead, we will need the following:
Completed Application
Id Copy
Proof of Address
Landlord permission if renting
Body corporate permission if staying in a flat or complex.
