Thanks to these efforts, more than 80% of patients with suspected sepsis in England now receive timely antimicrobials. Yet challenges remain: striking a balance with antimicrobial stewardship, navigating the intricacies of early shock physiology, and recognising that sepsis in the field is often subtle, evolving, and easily missed.
