I know many of you are familiar with my dad as a computer engineer, but what you may not know is that he has a deep passion for history, particularly Islamic history. With a Bachelor's degree in Islamic History from Karachi University, he has always been fascinated by the events that shaped the world. In this video, he takes us on a journey back to the 17th century, uncovering a little-known yet pivotal chapter in Baloch history.
The Baloch people of Makran fought fiercely against the Portuguese Empire’s control of critical maritime routes, including the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb. For over a century, the Portuguese dominated these vital chokepoints, but the Baloch's determined resistance played a key role in challenging their power, protecting international trade routes, and resisting European colonial control.
.
Join us as we explore the brave stand of the Baloch people in the 17th century, their resistance against the Portuguese, and the lasting impact of these events on the region and beyond.
