How education has played an important role in her life and how it can change the world for women all around the world. Padma Shri Professor Najma Akhtar is an active advocate of Gender equality and a well-recognized institution builder. She is a highly qualified and talented academician.
She has the distinction of being the first woman Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI).
Prof. Akhtar implemented National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and introduced all the major NEP-2020 initiatives in the University.
Under her efficient leadership, JMI achieved a significant Milestone by receiving A++ Grade from the NATIONAL ASSESSMENT AND ACCREDITATION COUNCIL.
