According to a recent viral video it's showing that a Hindi speaking lady asking a Bengali speaking lady to speak in Hindi just because it's India.
This incident took place in somewhere in Kolkata metro.
Here comes the big question is hindi compulsory to speak to prove you are an Indian?
According to construction : The Indian constitution does not specify the official languages to be used by the states for the conduct of their official functions and leaves each state free to, through its legislature, adopt Hindi or any language used in its territory as its official language or languages.
And in this video she excuses as you are not in Bangladesh is it offensive that's debatable but according to Indian Penal Code, 1860 (Section 153 A) - Criminalises the use of language that promotes discrimination or violence against people on the basis of race, caste, sex, place of birth, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation or any other category.
