Описание: I learned and performed this piece initially on the piano. There was a recording shared on my channel. Interestingly, after learning it on the harpsichord out of curiosity (which the music was written for), I realised how differently the same piece should be played on these two instruments, due to the fundamental difference of the two instruments’ sound and action. After returning to playing it again on the piano, the harpsichord sound offered me new perspectives and inspirations to interpret this beautiful music in a more stylistic vibe. Hope you will enjoy listening to it!

"Prelude" from Suite in A minor, RTC 1
The French Baroque composer Rameau wrote three books of Pièces de clavecin (pieces for the harpsichord). This prelude is from the first book published in 1706. It has an innovative form, starting with an unmeasured prelude then followed by a measured prelude in the second half. Unmeasured prelude is a prelude in which the duration of each note is left to the performer, written without rhythm or metre indications. Unmeasured preludes leave full freedom for the player to improvise as they feel differently for the music.
