Safer, cost-effective, and more convenient inline piping isolation and testing: Enerpac Mechanical Isolation and Test Tools (MITT) enable isolation and pressure testing of piping local to the weld point. The new tools provide significant cost savings, enhanced safety, and reduced water usage.
Compared with more traditional procedures, a huge amount of time and cost can be saved on cleaning, filling, drying and pressurizing.
Testing a pipe section locally means the full system doesn’t need pressurized. This helps prevent leakage in mature piping systems. Welded end caps or installed plugs are not required, which minimizes the risk of internal damage to the pipe and prevents further work to remove the end caps.
Twin seals and the pressurized annulus provide three barriers that enable hot work to be completed safely. Any residual vapor within the piping is vented to a safe area and eliminates a build-up of back-pressure.
