I finished out Psychiatry, my first rotation of my third year of medical school by honoring the shelf exam! A shelf exam is a comprehensive subject exam that you must take after each organ system (first 2 years) and rotation (last 2 years) that tests your understanding of everything about that subject.
I was super intimidated by the psych shelf exam because it was my first rotation, I was in a time crunch, and you MUST honor the shelf in order to honor the course. On top of that, during my first two years of medical school, I was a very below average/average medical student. Luckily, YA GIRL KILLED IT.
