Quick Sun Roof Leak Fix for VW Jetta or Passat

Описание: Quickly fix your sun roof leak with a vacuum, air compressor, 1/4" rubber hose, and a screw driver.

Order of Maintenance:

1) Open sun roof and car hood.

2) Pull out the rubber hood seal located under the hood nearest to the windshield that outlines the curvature of the plastic cover. The plastic cover spans across the width of the windshield.

3) Gently pull up the plastic corner on the passenger side and there will be another plastic shield underneath that is only fastened in two places. The snaps are plastic, so be careful by gently loosening the snaps out of place in order to slide out the secondary plastic shield. It does not take a lot of force.

4) Take a shop vac and vacuum all of the leaves and debris from underneath the plastic cover.

5) With your finger or screw driver, reach under the plastic cover into the corner where the rubber drain nipple is located and nudge it back and forth to loosen up and debris. Sometimes dirt will come out that was clogged at the end of the nipple..

6) Use the 1/4" rubber tube and fit it into the corner of the passenger side, sun roof drain hole. The tube will fit snug right inside the drain hole. You don't have to wedge it down further than a 1/4" into the drain hole. Take the other end of the tube and fit the tube over the compressor nozzle and give it a few blasts. Check to see if any new debris came out

7) Test by pouring water into the sun roof drain hole and gauge the amount of water dissipating and check the water flow coming out of the end of the nipple as well. If it is quickly draining, your sun roof drain is clear on the passenger side.

8) Apply all of the above steps to the driver side, except step 3, which does not have a plastic shield under the plastic cover on the driver side like there is on the passenger side.

9) Put the underlying plastic shield, plastic cover, and rubber hood seal back into place.
