The adult warthog is calm, head down, snout busy in eating grass no clue danger is close. Its ears flick, but not in alarm. The wind is wrong for it… perfect for the hunter. Low in the grass, the lioness freezes. Belly flat. Eyes locked. Every step is slow, silent, measured. She uses the terrain like a shadow, closing the gap while the warthog stays focused on feeding. The lioness launches in a short, powerful sprint. The warthog reacts late, wheeling around in panic, tusks flashing as it tries to bolt. Dust flies. There’s a brief clash—strength versus surprise. The lioness targets the shoulder and neck, aiming to unbalance, to bring it down fast before those tusks can do damage.
