The Odisha Government has sanctioned a special grant of ₹1 crore for the construction of a new Brahma Taladhwaja Ratha in Kendrapara for this year’s Rath Yatra. The announcement aims to ensure smooth conduct of the annual festival.

Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda thanked the state government for approving the financial assistance. For the past few years, the 14 wheels of the existing Ratha were reportedly in poor condition, causing repeated operational disruptions. As a result, the chariot often failed to reach the Mausi Maa Temple on schedule and the ritual of chaka laga was delayed by one or two days. Similar issues were observed during Bahuda Yatra.
