2013 Volkswagen Passat - V6 Timing Chain

Описание: This Passat has engine code CDVB. We did not show the timing marks but I will do my best to describe the process. There are special tools required to perform this job. There is a camshaft locking plate installed on the belt side of the engine. There is also a locking tool for the high pressure fuel pump sprocket. These tools are absolutely necessary. To align the oil pump chain, you will find colored links on the chain and those links will line up with corresponding marks on the crank sprocket and the oil pump sprocket. To align the camshaft chain, there are also colored links on the new chain. The three colored links that are all together will center on the corresponding marks on the oil pump sprocket. There are three additional colored links that will line up with the corresponding marks on the exhaust camshaft, intake camshaft and the fuel pump sprocket. This job does require removal of the transmission. We recommend installing new flywheel bolts that are torque to yield. Also, install a new rear crankshaft seal at this time.
This job was performed due to Cam/Crank correlation fault codes stored in the engine control module.
The Camshaft correlation fault codes stored were P0016 and P0017
There were also cylinder misfire fault codes stored. The engine would start and run but ran very rough with excessive misfires. The timing chain was also noisy under the hood. These are the symptoms we experienced.
