In this deeply personal episode of Life After Sundays, I share my story of the Christmas that changed my life forever—the day my husband left me and our four children. In the middle of a season meant for celebration, we were faced with loss, confusion, and unimaginable pain.

Despite the holiday season, she chose to confront him, knowing it would "alter the entire holiday season" (4:20). In a raw display of emotion, she threw a tray of lunch she had prepared for him (6:37).
• Emotional Aftermath & Isolation: Patrice felt immediate devastation, embarrassment, and betrayal (12:46). She recounts how mutual friends and family, especially those from their ministry, abandoned her, with no one reaching out to offer support except for her former sister-in-law (11:19).
• The Departure on Christmas Day: On Christmas Day, her husband left without a direct goodbye to her or their children. Patrice discovered his packed truck and had a brief, painful exchange with him before he drove away (36:00). Her six-year-old daughter was the one to inform her brothers that "Dad left" (38:06).
• Healing and Forgiveness: Patrice reflects on her journey of healing over 13 years, describing herself now as a "born again," "healed," and "confident woman of God" (33:57). She acknowledges the lingering "residue" of trauma but emphasizes that she no longer grieves the relationship (39:34, 44:01). Her current pain is tied to her children's healing journey and her desire to protect them from manipulation (44:09). She has let go of forgiveness for her own sake and recognizes that peace is not found in marital status or material possessions but in her faith (43:20, 46:06).

He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”
31 “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ”32 But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33 Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. 34 He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”
