In 1984, the University of Miami won the national football title, and Wheel of Fortune came recruiting on campus for their annual "college week." I tried out and was not chosen for that, but was told I could be on the regular program. It was a fun experience both on the show and all the drama that surrounded it outside the studio!
I have also posted a story from The Moth with a bit of backstory on what it is like at the screen test, as well as behind the scenes on the show itself.
