Mission Asia Cup: The Wake-Up Call We Needed! 🇳🇵 | ACC Premier Cup 2026

Описание: Nepal suffered a 15-run defeat against Hong Kong in the final group-stage match of the ACC Premier Cup 2026, but still finished as Group A winners and booked a place in the semi-final against Oman.
Hong Kong posted a challenging 261/7 after Nepal had reduced them to 133/7. Babar Hayat produced a brilliant unbeaten century and completely changed the game in the death overs, while Nepal’s death bowling once again became a major concern.
Sandeep Lamichhane was outstanding with 4 wickets, while Sher Malla impressed with 3 wickets for just 27 runs. However, Karan KC and Gulshan Jha struggled badly at the death as Hong Kong added crucial runs in the final overs.
In the chase, Nepal started positively through Aasif Sheikh and Arjun Kumal, but another middle-order collapse put Nepal under pressure. Ishan Pandey then produced a sensational fighting 90, supported by Dipendra Singh Airee and a late cameo from Karan KC. But Nepal ultimately fell 15 runs short.
The defeat should not be viewed only negatively. It is a crucial wake-up call before the semi-final. Nepal’s batting against 200+ targets, vulnerability against left-arm spin, middle-order consistency, death bowling and fielding all need improvement.
Now the real battle begins.
