Smith Wigglesworth- The Secret Place

The Secret Place is not a location but a position. In this Ignite class I want to share some insight from Smith Wigglesworth on how to enter the Secret Place.

“Let us pray and commit our whole way to God. Being not conformed, but transformed, proving God’s good and acceptable and perfect will. Amen”
“He who goes to and fro weeping carrying his bag of seed, shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.”
Psalm 126 : 6

He who sows and how we must understand this
“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.
He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal”
John 12: 24
In these verses we learn how to position ourselves and so enter the Secret Place.

A Living Sacrifice
Smith said-
“ a life on the altar for service. There, not a hoping to be there. Paul had reached a reserved place, separated. He was now in the place where the Holy Ghost can speak.”

“I beseech thee, with all that see this truth, to present your bodies a living sacrifice (Romans 12: 1).” Here is the mercy of God, the unfathomable, desirable will of God. The body presented a living sacrifice. It’s a present, a living sacrifice, not a worn-out life. The body, soul and spirit to be presented blameless at the coming of the Lord.”

2. A divine Encounter is what we seek
We find that everything has lost its taste and smell without Him. He becomes life and our absolute need. We refuse to settle for anything less than an encounter. No more service as usual, we want the real thing

“Do not be satisfied with a life that is not wholly swallowed up in God.”

“Every new revelation means a new dedication.”
“But when our hearts condemn us, there is no power in prayer; no power in preaching.”
But when a man labors in prayer, he groans and travails because his tremendous sin is weighing him down, and he becomes broken in the PRESENCE of God; and when properly melted he comes into perfect harmony with the divine plan of God, and then God can work in that clay.

3. The Desire of My Heart
Jesus has to become the absolute and only desire on our heart. He means everything and He consumes us

“When you lose your heart and Another takes your heart, and you lose your desires and he takes the desires, then you live in that sunshine of bliss which no mortal can ever touch. God wants us to be entirely eaten up by this holy zeal of God, so that every day we shall walk in the Spirit.”
We want none of the entertainments that the churches are offering. When God comes in He entertains us Himself. Entertained by the King of kings and Lord of lords! O, it is wonderful.

4. Our source of Life is Found in the Secret Place
Look at the story of Jesus meeting the Samaritan women at the well in John chapter four. It starts by saying, “Jesus being wearied from His journey, was sitting thus by the well.” (John 4: 6)

I would say you have read that verse and in fact the story many times and those words went over your head. Jesus was weary from His journey. He was exhausted and tired and needed a break. We have all been there. Remember He has not eaten and He is hungry as well. But how does He receive food and substance- doing the well!
Smith said-
“I saw when the Holy Ghost came in, He so revealed the Christ of God that I was feeding on Him in my heart and having great joy through the strengthen given by His life.”
“This portrays to us the possibility for man to live in God, to be absorbed in God, with no consciousness of the world under any circumstances, except as we bring help to it.”
‘We must have Heaven’s riches to give to souls in poverty, the spiritual life of Christ to be poured in. “
