Jesus, You changed my destiny
You took the stone and made me breathe

I was running but stuck in a circle
Every road led me back to the same
Chains disguised as my freedom
Every choice just replayed the pain
I heard truth, but I couldn’t receive it
My hands clenched tight to control
Till the cross broke through my resistance
And mercy got under my soul

I was tired of fighting Your grace
Tired of staring You in the face
Then You whispered, “Let it go”
And my walls began to fold

You said You’d take this heart of stone

I didn’t earn it
I didn’t deserve it
I couldn’t fix what was killing my soul
You stepped into darkness
Took nails for my pardon
And traded Your life for my hope
You pulled me out
I gave it all
Your Spirit moved
And my heart came alive

You took this heart of stone
Turned it into flesh and bone
Now I feel the fire again
I’m alive in the breath You send
You didn’t leave me where I was
You didn’t quit when I lost my love
Jesus, You rewrote my history
You took the stone
And You made me free

I’m not the man I used to be
You made a new heart out of me
