Freezer Friendly Pizza Sauce in Less than 5 Minutes

I love pizza! My whole family loves pizza! So what better item to use some of my valuable freezer space for than pizza sauce?
Most folks only think of pizza sauce as something that has simmered a long time on the stovetop. But did you know that most professional chefs use an uncooked sauce that has just had time to meld with the spice flavors? That's how they get that wonderful Iherby Italian taste without losing the fantastic fresh tomato flavor.
Freezing the sauce allows those flavors to meld together perfectly, so that when you thaw it and put it on your homemade pizza, or serve it with crusty warm breadsticks, you can indulge in a true treat.

Homemade Freezer Friendly Pizza Sauce

Makes: 3 cups

INGREDIENTS
• 28 oz crushed tomatoes
• 2 garlic cloves (pressed, minced or finely grated)
• 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
• 1/2 tbsp fine sea salt
• 1/2 tbsp dried oregano

PREPARATION STEPS
1. Combine all of your ingredients in the bowl of a food processor or blender and pulse together until well combined and blended.

2. Place potions in an airtight freezer or vacuum sealed bag. Freeze flat for quicker thawing. Place in the refrigerator overnight to thaw.

4. Cover and refrigerate for the flavors to meld for at least 3 hours or store in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 weeks.

NOTES
This is how the pros make pizza sauce. It's easy with no cooking required. This red sauce has a rich tomato flavor. It's also perfect as a dip for breadsticks or pizza crust.
