Who are the cherubim and seraphim in the Holy Bible?

We unpack what they looked like, why they were carved in gold above the Ark of the Covenant, and what their presence tells us about the holiness of God.
Then we enter Isaiah chapter 6 — one of the most intense moments in the entire Bible — where the prophet stands in the Temple and sees the Seraphim, the Burning Ones, crying Holy, holy, holy with voices that shake the foundations. And watches as one of them flies toward him with a coal of living fire.
