Today we are going to show you the Uber boat or thames clipper in London. We have chosen to hop on at Putney Pier and ride to Greenwitch, the longest route the clipper does.
You simply tap in with your credit or debit card to board. When you get off, simply tap the reader on the pier again. The piers have a live board displaying services.
The boats are nice and spacious, they have a bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks. We grab a few brewskies and sit on in the open area of the boat.
We have the boat to ourselves more or less, and our journey begins, it will take us nearly 2 hours to get to North Greenwich and we will pass all of the famous Thames sights but better… at night.
I would recommend the Uber boat opposed to conventional tours for a few reasons. The Uber boat is cheaper at around £9 compared to a tour boat at £23. The Uber boat has a bar, that’s a plus you can hop on and off whenever you like, there is no need to book ahead.
