How to remove a paint mistake on pottery.
This is for bisque fired unglazed pottery. (As in the pottery has been fired only once and paint hasn't been applied everywhere and then fired the 2nd time to set the glaze paint.)
This is also for pottery paint called a glaze this brand is Mayco but works on others. May not work with normal paint pigments like acrylic and tempera. Pottery glaze paint has a thick texture and contains silica (think how similar it is to glass after firing) as well as clay dust.
1. Let your paint mistake dry
This take about 5 min as glaze dries quick. You will see color lighten and when you touch it it doesn't smear.
2. Gently use Medium or Fine Sandpaper and rub off paint glaze.
3. Paint glaze will become loose dust, just blow or dry brush it off.
4. Re-paint
