How to become a Digital Court Reporter!

You do need to become a Notary Public, which is an easy process. Check with your state for the requirements to do that. It's usually taking a short online class and filling out an application, you must not have a criminal record and the age requirements in most states is 18.

As a digital reporter, you can work as little or as frequently as you wish to work. You are in control of the amount of hours or days you want to work! How awesome is that!!

The following states do not require a certification, but if you're certified by the AAERT, you will have many more opportunities available.
Alaska, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
**Georgia and Michigan require AAERT certification.
